Characteristics

LoRa WS302 Sound Level Sensor
This sound level sensor is ideal for smart buildings, smart cities, schools, and health monitoring applications.
It helps optimize the control and management of environmental noise levels.
The Milesight WS302 provides an efficient solution to monitor acoustic environments and improve people’s well-being.
Designed to precisely control noise
The WS302 offers a measurement range of 30 to 120 dBA, an accuracy of ±3 dB, and a resolution of 0.1 dB.
It supports A-weighted, C-weighted, and fast-time weighted measurements.
Available measurement units include Actual SPL, Leq, and Lmax, providing comprehensive acoustic monitoring.

Adjust weights A and C as needed
The Milesight WS302 sensor allows you to choose between A-weighting and C-weighting depending on your monitoring needs.
A-weighting is suitable for quieter environments, while C-weighting is used for louder environments.
This flexibility ensures accurate noise measurements in different situations.
Fast Time Weighting
Fast time weighting uses a 125-millisecond time constant to measure unstable noise with rapid fluctuations.
This feature captures quick changes in sound levels, providing more representative measurements in dynamic environments.
To conserve battery life, this feature is disabled by default.

More Sound Levels for Better Understanding
The WS302 supports reporting three sound level values: Peak Sound Level, Sound Pressure Level (SPL), and Equivalent Continuous Sound Level (Leq).
These measurements provide a complete understanding of the acoustic environment and help with better analysis and decision-making.
Its compact design allows the sensor to blend seamlessly into indoor environments.
The device operates within a temperature range of -20°C to +60°C and humidity up to 95%.
With an IP30 rating, it is designed for indoor applications.

Application Suggestions
An immediate application is in libraries where maintaining quiet environments is important.

In hospitals, it helps maintain a quiet environment for patient recovery and can also act as a noise alarm when necessary.
In schools, it supports a better learning atmosphere by monitoring classroom noise levels.

In hotels and offices, it helps ensure compliance with noise policies and improves employee productivity by maintaining a balanced acoustic environment.

LoRaWAN® Connectivity
The Milesight WS302 Sound Level Sensor is compatible with standard LoRaWAN® gateways.
It offers communication ranges of up to 15 km in rural areas and 2 km in urban environments.
This ensures reliable long-distance communication and scalable deployment for smart cities, buildings, schools, and healthcare facilities.
